I certainly don’t understand why Pinkie Pie would say such a thing like this. Ponies shouldn’t say stuff like that, y’ know.
I like to imagine that wedding rings would be earrings magically sealed shut so they can’t be slipped off so you can pretend to be single at a bar or something unless you literally rip it out of your ear.
A sort of i wish it was a thing thing….

And how does she intend to wear it? She has no fingers of horns!
These two did appear in quite a few books and comics. I guess they’re just better handled outside the show. Actually,I didn’t like their Agents of SMILE book,maybe no one gets what they’re about.
Not being main characters is not an excuse for a cut-out
If that was the case they would have cut it completely
well they aren’t main characters. I don’t think they are secondary characters either so at best I would say they are tirtiery characters. I mean heck screw loose was shown having growth in the background from a pony barking to one who is in a home, but still visited by a nurse showing that she had made progress. Characters who aren’t front and center can’t aways get center stage character development all the time and as the last episode wouldn’t they focus on the main cast and only put things for the minor characters in the background?
I guess Hasbro didn’t want to risk ruffling any feathers after the couple other times they tried to pander to fans and it backfired.
And was entirely in the background and doing it at the very end of the show isn’t much better
