This
@Background Pony
And this
And some other stuff.
Actually no. You can stay in the fandom but remember that it can take away from you more than it can give you.
2011:
In January, Cupcakes gets posted, with Party of One airing soon afterwards, ultimately creating the homicidal Pinkamena meme. Pony is also given the boot from 4chan in late February. More chaos than drama, but still interesting times.
2012:
(see above image)
2013:
Twilicorn, Bronydoc piracy, Fighting is Magic C&D, Stronger Youtube takedowns (including fan altered series), unnecessary Mandopony drama, Equestria Girls speculation, rumor mills going wild (since Twilicorn was correct).
At the very least, know that the drama will pass and that it often overshadows the good news and other great things happening at the same time.
Maybe there is a-lot of drama, it’s just that it goes unnoticed because most of it doesn’t pertain to the show. People won’t care about Bronycon/Purple Tinker unless they follow the con scene, same with EqD if they only follow it casually. These things don’t matter to casual fans who just care about the show.
Things like Derpygate and Twilicorn get more attention because they directly effect the show, the one thing all types of fans have in common.
Damn I should go to bed.
Well, I do believe there are individuals who would like any kind of attention, even negative.
But there’s something still off.I mean, our fandom will overreact to anything and everything.I have never seen any other fandom react like this.
Yeah me too, i have like…10 chapters planned inside my head, but i just don’t write it because i know it wont last satisfyingly enough.
I’d like to see that idea come to fruition.
So i feel sad D:
Well, consider the following:
The show, that is the main source of canon in this fandom, will not last forever; not like the sonic fandom, the adventure time fandom or even the furry fandom. With a show with a limited amount of episodes and seasons people feel psychologically pressured to use the remaining time as much as possible, and that makes people do stupid stuff, like generating drama, as a way to be part of the fandom’s history.
For example, i have always wanted to make a fanfic, one so epic and manly that the characters end fighting ON TOP OF THE MOTHER FUCKING SUN WITHOUT SINKING IN IT OR DYING, but i cant because i feel like it wont last long (that is, my fame if i actually get some of it) and i feel like the very moment the show ends people will forget about it and many will leave.
Are we bronies that crappy?
Yeah, but i read the beginning of stuff like this first.
Then I decide whether I want to read on.
I agree, I saw those tags, was all NOPE.
cant blame ya ther
Ok, I read it now. Can you blame me? I see those tags and think “shit.”
We should start a revolt, only allow the true fans to post and make content and ban the rest of the non-blonde, non-blue eyed, non-arian people. And if they refuse to leave then we burn them online.
It’s actually pretty good.
Short version: There has always been this much drama, you just have to ignore it.
