I believe he didn’t just feel anger in the immediate aftermath of her choice. I actually think he also felt fear for her safety, as aside from Granny Smith and Bright Mac, and maybe himself, most members of both families would not be so accepting, maybe even resorting to directly trying to stop it by any means necessary, especially the Pears. While that may seem unlikely though, the tension between the two families had been building up over the years, and something like Bright Mac’s and Pear Butter’s marriage can really cause that tension to explode.

That’s my headcannon.

Pretty interesting. We don’t get a lot of the happier days of Pear Butter and her father. Although judging from his interactions with his daughter, he might have been more strict than Granny Smith considering he forced her into a bad choice between love or family.
