Hoping thems fightn herds gets funded, as then this dumb decision will have come back to bite them.

Also want to point out, as said earlier, it was also a game for charity.

So, Hasbro possibly just screwed over some poor kids’ lives. I doubt that would let parents approve of their children getting into MLP.

I agree with BP, shutting down Fighting IM barely helped Hasbro in any form. I Seriously doubt the game would have caused the company’s sales to spiral downwards and end in some ridiculous bankrupt.

If anything, it’d make MLP more well known and gain some more gamer fans, ending with the result of more people wanting to buy legit merchandise.

Hasbro is the dumb.

You’re a fool who doesn’t have the company’s best interest at heart than. You really think some silly fan made fighter with violence not unseen in the show would damage your company more than the bad PR that comes from shutting down a bunch of fans?

I bet you’d waste money and time trying to shut down pornographic works too.

When I think of the whole, “Let’s shut this Fighting is Magic thing down!” I think of Street Fighter X Megaman. In other words, a fangame of two of Capcom’s most popular franchises that Capcom, known for being huge jerks recently, that got licensed by Capcom! I can understand why Hasbro wouldn’t want to license Fighting is Magic, but not why they would shut it down. It wouldn’t lose them any money, and they would probably get new fans as people check out this new, popular fighting game.

See, this shows the true issue here: some of us are forgetting that this show isn’t all about us. The show was made to sell toys to children. If a game about the very characters that Hasbro is trying to market depicts them beating each other up, that just hurts the company’s image in the eyes of the parents. In all honesty, it makes perfect sense for them to do what they did; I’d have done the same were I in their position.

I predict an office shooting in that building the next day. See if you can make a strip of the dude coming back to shoot up the building and kill the boss.

it was in a charity contest or soemthing. that way it made money. and it doesnt matter if the money is for charity, that second the copyright law gripped and they had to take action

Wasn’ t a freeware game?
From what i know is copyright infringement only if the maker try to earn money from it. Or else it would be like sueing the maker of a fanfic or a fanart.

Maybe this meme has been contributing to the fear of evil corporations that’s been spreading through the fandom lately.
