If the simultaneous episodes were what was intended, then I think it would have been better to show this episode BEFORE “Just for Sidekicks” to build more intrigue.

Y’know, since they did two episodes showing both sides of a single event (Main six going to Crystal Empire while Spike took care of the pets), could you imagine if they revisit the Nightmare Night episode to explain where Rarity was the whole time?

It was when Twi went to see Shining when he was training the Crystal Ponies.

Them having simultaneous arcs was a neat idea. Unfortunately, I disliked this episode due to how utterly predictable it was.

I have to say, the one thing ruined the episode for me was the whole “mistaken identity” shtick. Everything could have been negated with a simple question. It was really hard for me to look past that, although there were good jokes and I wouldn’t call it the worst episode.
