I think the biggest ‘problem’ with Rarity episodes is she’s subsequently written as either having learned her lesson or they close off that flaw in such a way it can’t be a main episode again. She’s had absolutely no Snapback aside from comedy scenes, like the MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE at the end of Canterlot wedding. Rainbow Dash, excluding one particular episode, feels the same way. Unlike Twilight and Fluttershy who can milk the same character traits over and over due to social awkwardness, or Pinkie who is essentially the same from many different angles, or AJ who JES PLAIN DUNT LERN NUTHIN, Rarity and Rainbow need an episode structure built entirely around a new flaw that relates to an older flaw. That’s mildly more difficult. At the same time doing that too often would make them seem racked with low self-esteem and downright histrionic.
 
On that note, that’s why I see Sleepless as both an RBD and a Scootaloo ep, it’s also about RBD getting over her hangup of showing weakness in public to someone that idolises her. (Which was never actually addressed in Best Flyer, she wound up with a different moral due to the circumstances involved in the competition.)

Everybody has had scenes on episodes not about them. That some of Rarity’s are good doesn’t make up for that.

She may get the spotlight from time to time but all the main characters do it. Just because she gets one or two scenes doesn’t mean she doesn’t need an episode.

Rarity doesn’t need that many episodes. Her hamminess alone makes her memorable in them.

She hasn’t gotten an episode, but like Applejack, every time she has a scene she completely dominates the spotlight.
