I think this show throughout both its seasons treated him better than in Friendship is Magic!

I agree with you in all seriousness. And it’s the same for Scootabuse. I think in the episodes before Sleepless in Ponyville, people had the idea that RD didn’t care about Scootaloo. But I noticed that she always went to see Scootaloo like at the end of Show Stoppers, RD was actually there to visit her and there are other examples of her seeing Scoots.
 
As for Spike and Rarity, I think Rarity truly cares. She even gave him that gem in Secret of My Excess. And she made sure Spike didn’t admit his crush so that she didn’t have to break his heart.
 
After all for Rarity understands what it’s like to go after someone you crush, and she didn’t want to destroy that passion. Funny them seeking somewhat unattainable love interests is something they have in common and Rarity probably knows that. (I’d like to see a fanfics exploring more about Rarity and Spike’s friendship. Even if I mildly ship older Sparity, I’m more interested in their current friendship and I wouldn’t even care if Sparity wouldn’t happen.)
 
So yeah Spikeabuse is not as prevelant as people think. And I think it’s actually a pretty interesting friendship.

Shhhhhh. Let people have their Spikeabuse. It’s the only true noble goal that mankind should strive for. Except for Scootabuse and maybe Gallabuse but only barely.
