How could she have let this happen again? What in Equestria was wrong with her - what was it that made the love of the ponies closest to her turn to hate? Celestia held her vigil at the mirror for days on end, only leaving the room when her advisor, who had been checking on her periodically, sternly reminded her that she had a country to run. She barely ate, she barely slept, only kept her heavy wet eyes on the dull blue shine of the mirror’s surface. The only thing that kept her going was the hope was the swirling pink mass of magic would return, heralding the return of her former student. ~
