@deactivated3b5307Simplified: Why do they call it an oven (which sounds like of-IN), when you put the food IN to cook it, and only take it OUT when it’s hot and you need to eat it?
It’s referencing how “oven” rhymes with “in”.
It’s trying to say it should be called an “ovout” because you take the food OUT before you eat it.

I am human, hear me err.

I’m guessing the dialogue in the original Garfield comic was either trying to introduce a phrase into the English language that didn’t already exist to make the comic funny, or assuming such a use of words already existed. If there was such a phrase as “of in __ of out __”, I never heard it.
