Description

Another very old project that never went anywhere. I was planning on making an MLP:FIM animatic to the My Best Friends in the World (What Am I to You?) song from Adventure Time. I thought it was a good fit for Spike’s status with the girls at the time, which was before Twilight got her wings (in 2013!). Things definitely changed with the continuation and eventual wrap-up of the show, so I didn’t feel particularly motivated to keep going. I was really proud of the first few frames I did though, so here they are in comic form. Enjoy!

Background Pony Number 17
My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

It took all nine seasons for the writers to figure out Spike’s status:
  • Little brother?
  • Adoptive child?
  • Manservant?
  • Pet?

He was all of these in turn. With “Sparkle’s Seven”, Spike finally landed on “little brother”, but even then Twilight apparently thinks of herself as his mom. And he still sleeps in a glorified cat-basket.

le grand rêveur
a slave or a dog which concretely they realized in the series.
It’s true that spike has courage.
He never knew his family.
he is exploited by his adoptive sister.
Belittled by many of his sister’s friends.
He’s a friend of mine, a busy farmer whose parents died and a sarcastic old crook.
I stop the list it’s too depressing.

I love the character but still how did he not become the villain of the show?
