I’ll add this is the third time I have seen her like this, Sunset’s Fantastic Fishing and Pettypop’s Mermay entries being the first and second.

This reminds me of So How Does Your Costume Fit, a transformation fiction on DA where this is hosted centered around a magical Halloween costume shop whose costumes become real once you put them on, after which they cannot be removed again.
 
Yet another adjusting to new life story. The primary characters are centaurs, but there are a couple of mermaids in it too. They even have a side story.
