In my fics they eat fish, seaweeds, oysters and game meat imported from the griffons.
Not to mention ‘pony food’.

Well *pushes up nerd glasses* in Surf and/or Turf, Sky Beak (Silverstream’s dad) mentions a “stein of salmon juice”, so even though they’re never actually depicted eating fish, I’d say it’s a good bet that hippogriffs (and griffons as well, assuming they could afford it, I’d imagine) do.
Did they ever eat fish in the cartoon? I’m gonna call it a good headcanon too.
