Yes, hence the “mathematical fallacy” tag. :) This was given to my class on our first day at uni to show exactly the sort of thing that can go wrong with mathematical proofs. There were also some more complex ones that involved taking different roots of unity on both sides and messing around with antiderivatives, but I can’t remember them clearly enough.
 
Anyway the upshot is Fluttershy is once again giving terrible advice. :P

In the fifth line it simplifies by removing the (a-b) on both sides but since we know that a=b then a-b can only equal 0. Ergo that equation was (a+b)0=b0 which is true, but you can’t simplify that by removing the zeros because you can’t divide by zero. So yeah if you want to ignore a rule of math then surprise you get weird math =p
