The idea that was actually thrown out by the staff was Rainbow Dash getting fat by flying in some sort of VR rather than in real life, but I guess they never got it to work.
It seemed like a missed opportunity they never did a “diet” episode for Pinkie, though I assume that’s because things are more P.C. now, so they don’t want to risk doing “fat jokes,” in fear of “body shaming,” and upsetting viewers too much.
Looking at this, I’m surprised more fans haven’t edited/used the “Whoa Nelly” model, or the smaller “chubby pony” base body models for characters.
