All six of them seem to be getting tested. Fluttershy had to tone down the god of chaos, mischief and insanity. If that’s not a test leading to eventual coronation I don’t know what is. All element bearers probably become royalty eventually.

I’m not sure how to feel about this.  
I like Alicorn Twilight, cause it seems like the natural progression of the character. But more Alicorn’d Mane Six feels a pit gimmicky.  
On the other hand, that is some pretty awesome fan art.

And that’s why the franchise will crash and burn. Even if it survived alicorn Twilight, all that will mean is that Hasbro will think this is permission from the fans to continue pimping alicorn Mane 6 until the fan base walks away in disgust and all the Hasbro sales department will say is “Oops!”

This would be a natural progression. After all, the original TWO princesses couldn’t keep it together because one of them was encroached upon. With six gifted with their respective element, the ability to use the elements will be harder to eliminate outright for Equestria’s foes. New heirs may also be found over time, just as the Princess Celestia first did at the beginning of the series. This solves a lot of problems that the princesses may be considering at the moment.
