Interestingly enough the one on Netflix was still produced by the BBC in fact it’s not even labelled as a Netflix original in the UK
I kept forgetting they were still making that considering the first trailer for that was in 2018.
It’s much worse. Hazel and Bigwig at least had their core character traits intact in the cartoon. Even season 3, when the show went insane, was better than the Netflix adaptation.
So even worse than BBC’s animated TV series in the 90’s?
@Kamazeustra
How about that Last Airbender movie? All kinds of fun!
The only good thing about that dumpster fire was Willem Dafoe as Ryuk…
Yeah, that definitely does not retain the spirit of the original with completely different characterizations and eventually it just drops even telling the basic story of Death Note and tells a complete different one.
You should see Netflix’s Death Note…
Yeah, still hate it when I do that.
Theatrical cuts are lame in this case. They also cut out the death of the slimy guy from the Hobbit in the third movie. I only saw the extended version, so I locked out there.
What I still don’t get to this day is that in order to address the lack of that sequence, they moved up Saruman’s death scene to the final battles… except that this was still cut from the theatrical version so he just seems to vanish there.
Understandable. Those keys are right next to each other.
I did mean Dol Guldor. I just typed Lothlorien twice.
We also saw the Scouring of the Shire in the first movie, with one of Frodo and Sam’s motivations being to prevent it. It was in the movie, but much shorter and used as motivation rather than another battle at the end.
@Ponylooker
Welcome to nerds and adaptations.
Celeborn ’s name was originally going to be… Teleporno.
The Scouring of the Shire was unnecessary. Sauron was destroyed. The war was over. Dealing with Saruman, who is a nobody at this point, was a waste of time. He is no threat to the rest of Middle Earth. Like with Tom Bomidal, that is another thing I’m glad Peter Jackson left out of the books.
Funny how you keep going over plot points added in the movies as “unnecessary” and waste time, yet ignore that Tolkien was guilty of doing the same.
@phat_guy
I am glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed that. :) Barry and Berry… as well as Liquified Poop … Movie. I am curious as to what the trailer would be. Also a lot of the movies look really really bad, lol.
To be fair, my objection to Aragorn “Bumbles Bounce” going off the cliff is largely “it isn’t in the book!” But more to the point, because it isn’t in the book, adding it wastes precious time that could have been used for important things that didn’t make it into the films. Hello, The Scouring of the Shire?
