The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Background Pony

Not at all.

We don’t know how many “who already quit without watching it” are there, so it is just assumptions.
Moe from Simpson said; they’ll be back, they can’t help coming back. (or something to that effect)

As for having Hater and the curious watching the episode, most would leave but some will stay. That is already fulfilling the objective of the viral; getting more viewer.
If there are 10,000 new viewers for the finale and 10% of the viewer become a fan, that is 1,000 new potential customers.

Hasbro is a business entity out to make money, not an artist trying to please the fans. Then again, we are not the prime target audience anyway.

Brony spend alot of money, but most of that money goes to fan made merchandise instead. The big money maker are still kids who drag their parents to the toys section.

As they say, any publicity is good publicity.
See the number of bad rep Apple and Microsoft gets, but people still buy their products.

If you feel crossed about the direction of the show, feel free to leave and pick up another entertainment. Or just sit tight and wait for the new episode like the rest of us.

cheers.

As much leeway as Hasbro’s given the series, in the end the upper levels of Hasbro’s management don’t care about what you or I want out of the show. They care about what will get sales, and if you really think the brony audience is the true driving sales force behind the franchise, because in the end all of this is a franchise meant to make the heads of the company richer, you need to step back and really take at look at your own sense of self-importance.

You are kidding, right?

Considerating the number of people who already quit without watching it, considerating that haters would watch one time and then leave, and the curious would see bronies as immature children…

What kind of publicity is that?

@Sonlirain
They are a toy company how are those arguments. Search artist:hasbro, if their toys were even that good, which they’re not, that would still not be a point for them being more than a soulless corporation.

What about them prohibiting artists and actors from visiting the conventions with no explanation and againts the creators’ will? The people who made them damn thing?

Short answer:
Yes

Long answer:
Yes.
If I were the marketing director for MLP, how would I go about one upping the existing wide spread of the brand?

VIRAL it!
The fandom is already watching the show anyway, but how to get more viewer?
By creating a shitstorm so huge that it will rope in the curious and the haters.

The curious will come in and see what is all the fuss is about.
The hater will tune in so they can laugh at the fandom and lap up the delicious brony tears.
The brony will sit through the episode just as always.

Plot twist at the end of episode, Twilight Sparkle is back to her normal unicorn self.
The brony cheers, the curious meh and the hater got conned.

Viewership for the season finale has topped all past episodes.
More viewership possible translate into more toy being sold.

And Nightmare Moon.
Changed the name on Heartstrings to Lyra Heartstrings.
Released a Gilda figurine.
Nightmare moon.

They’re not total arseholes.

The companies that have been good to the fanbase: Studio B (the animators), The Hub (a literal brony shoutout).
Hasbro did nothing but attacked the community though cease and desists. They did nothing good for the bronies. Some argue that they were forced into it legally but I never saw them making up for it so the point if moot.

Hasbro wouldn’t because they give non of the fucks; do not be fooled into liking a corporation. If there were such a twist, it would come from the people who actually make the show, not the legal entity that pays for it.

I already said before…

Do you really think Hasbro would troll his fanbase, losing plenty of ‘rabid fans’ who buy their stuff?

Seriously?
