@Background Pony That’s just it– Hasbro is making an insane amount of money off of pony merch, and they want to make more at the cost of alienating the show’s older fanbase. From now on, the urge to peddle merch through the cartoon is going to be completely uncontrolled, because they have crossed the line into permanently altering one of the main characters for the sake of selling merchandise. No good will come of it.

personally i like the idea of changing the whole formula like this because it adds the possabilty of a lot of things, i am only disappointed because they leaked and spoiled this to hell and back, it needed a strong surprise to work…

Had a good run? Why does everyone think this signals some kind of an end for the show? Hasbro is making an obscene amount of money off of pony merch. They’d be stupid to end the show now. Maybe Twi is an alicorn now because Hasbro wanted to sell some toys, but I have faith in the writing staff to give us good episodes regardless.

Being an adult, we’re used to seeing shows going a good 5 seasons or so before they jump the shark. We tend to forget though, that for kids’ cartoons 3 seasons is an eternity. Maybe we should count ourselves lucky that the show actually had as good of a run as it did– especially considering how unlikely our fandom of it was to begin with.
