Yeah, disregarding value judgement, whenever the books is “cringe”, good, bad, masterpiece, reading this much of the same super big book in the pretty short amount of time is rather jarring.

I can’t help but think of all the other books you could have read on that time. You could have completed several whole catalogues. You could have read all of Hemmingway, or Jorge Luis Borges.

Blackjack is Twilight Sparkle and Big Mac’s great-great-great-great-great-however-many-greats granddaughter by blood. Littlepip is related to the Apples as well, since she was born in Stable 2 and a lot of the ponies there have Apple Family blood. Blackjack and Littlepip are together in the epilogue of PH. You know what that means, don’t you?
 
Project Horizons was essentially a story about the ridiculous lengths that Blackjack would go to in order to drunkenly bang her cousin.

In the time it takes to read Project Horizons you can read two or three other books that may have more an impact in the same way as PH or simply in expanding the perception of what can be a story or what can be in one. You could have read Kenziboru Oe’s Death by Water (Sushi as it’s originally titled in the original Japanese) a dozen times. You could do the same for Grapes of Wrath, or the Steinbeck deepcut Sweet Thursday (which is so fucking short a book you could read it till you memorize it). You could give Naked Lunch several shots. Hundred Years of Solitude can fit in the time it takes to read Project Horizons four times over with much more impact and awe. You could even commit to the ultimate /lit/ meme and read the whole Roman and Greek canon.
