Actually Mark Hamill was told what the real line was moments before shooting that scene. Only George Lucas and Irvin Kershner knew the line beforehand. This was an attempt to prevent spoilers from being leaked.

Sure enough, the line in the Script (“Obi-Wan killed your father.”) was leaked in British Tabloids.

Even the actors weren’t told, during that scene they had different lines when filming and Luke was yelling “NO” about something else, then they changed it during editing, not sure if James Erl Jones knew since they would need him for the redub but I know the other actors didn’t.
