That wasn’t EqG Flash. That was FiM Flash. Its implied there are two versions of characters. One per continuity. You might say its also the reason why Sunset will never be canon in FiM. She doesn’t have an EqG counter part because she IS the Sunset of the EqG continuity.

Yes, I am trolling. Mostly for fun. I don’t watch EqG but I do know anything that happens in EqG cannot spill into FiM canon but anything that happens in FiM can into EqG. Sunset is EqG so she wasn’t there during the fight. Having her image appear in the last song’s sequence was just fan service.

Most of that is true (but irrelevant to the point), though her actually appearing in an image is a lot different than her just being like any of the many pop culture references in the show.

She didn’t get a reference. She got a cameo that lasted about 2 seconds top as being shoved at the last minute of the show and she was almost obscured by Twilight too. It’s really no different than Rick and Morty cameo or any pop culture cameo shown in the show. Her being canon or not doesn’t change anything structurally about the show as it’s written by completely ignoring she exists. She still is never referenced by name or at all, she’s absent in all the events of the show including Twilight’s coronation, her interactions with Twilight bare no development in Twilight’s character. This was even noted by Jim Miller.

It doesn’t make sense for her to be there. She’s not part of the show and that’s why all she got was a nod towards the last minute of the show. This is pretty much confirmed by the leaks. The show ignores that she even exist and it’s written that way.

I’m sure she’d immediately go if it was explained what was going on (well, assuming there wasn’t an apocalyptic threat happening in that world at the same time). The real problem is they’d have to find her, which could take upwards of an hour if she was at the school, and multiple hours or more if she wasn’t.
