Nonsense. There’s nothing stopping them selling “collectable” statues like this at the same time as the cheap-n-cheerful toys. Look in a comic shop and you’ll find fancy, expensive collectors’ figures of, for example, Batman, but you’ll still see the kid-friendly Batman action figures in toy shops.

$250. Hasbro has licensed hipster jewelry that sold for three times that, but not this. I know this would be a niche market even at half or quarter of the price, but don’t tell me that an $800 gold-plated OC pony is more in demand than this.

$250 is still a lot for what I think is one of the best 3D prints I’ve seen recently, and at that size too. 25 people out there are gonna be lucks buggers.
