Wished that Tartarus also held actual prisoners that can talk and scheme and such than just solely holding growling monsters(barring Tirek and Cozy Glow, the only actual sentient prisoners in there that aren’t growling monsters)

And as for you, Grogar is considered the father of monsters, since he was most likely the one who created those monsters like the Chimera and Cockatrice. And he allowed them to run wild, so they were created to threaten civilization. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Tartarus was actually created to hold those monsters.

With how the writers handled the princesses despite them being alicorns, it wouldn’t be surprising if the princesses don’t have anything like with Tartarus’s actual magic stuff aside from just dumping prisoners into a cage into there.
 
I don’t think we see that chimera speak at all during School Daze in there, did we? Or specifically was it the same one that spoke and such.  
Sadly the problem is too many of the “prisoners” in there are just growling monsters that don’t speak.  
Tartarus ends up look more like a zoo or a pound where dangerous animals gets thrown in there for just threatening civilization instead of a place of imprisonment of dangerous individuals that did something really bad(like with Tirek threatening Equestria by trying to steal everyone’s magic). In fact it seems like attempting to steal magic from ponies warrants that punishment, as in seen as a really terrible thing to do to ponies since they NEED magic for everything.

Yeah… I’m actually fine with the “Discord was Grogar” twist, but the trio’s punishment kind of felt way too harsh.
 
Especially since Tirek and Cozy Glow were already serving their sentences out in Tartarus before Discord broke them out and taught them to work together. Had he not done that, they would have basically been harmless stuck down there.

Well, this is the PRINCESSES that were talking about, so if anyone can do stuff involving Tartarus other than putting people there, well it would be them  
And as for that edgy zoo thing, if it makes you feel any better, some of those monsters did pretty bad things (For example, the Chimera threatened to eat Apple Bloom, So it can be considered a prisoner)

Sadly we don’t know if the sisters can do stuff involving Tartarus aside from locking people up there.
 
Really.. the writers should have touched on Tartarus more like more concepts, other than making it look like more of a edgy zoo rather than a dark place holding serious criminals(as in apparently Tirek was the only actual prisoner in there that’s not a growling monster animal thing that Fluttershy can tame and such)

They probably didn’t have anyone at the moment to fix that good enough.

I am saying they probably “updated” the security shortly afterwards.  
After all it seems like it was on short-notice that Tartarus would be getting a new prisoner.  
And they probably also did it while they fix up the gate the gang had to open to get out of there during the mess.

After they put her in there they probably would have make adjustments shortly afterwards to ensure whatever tricks Cozy Glow had wouldn’t work.

And when they placed Cozy Glow in Tartarus, they never warned Cerberus about any tricks they would pull

They would clearly train it more to not fall for what tricks Tirek or Chrysalis do.
 
What bugs me about that finale is how the sisters were just sidelined even though they were literally right there and nothing was preventing from going.  
Its a waste they didn’t see how Starswirl was acting with “once a villain, always a villain” attitude, imagine how hurt Luna would have been due to the NMM mess. That could have been conflict there. But nope, the sisters got wasted.
 
About the whole “consideration” crap, it bothers me how it happened off-screen. Specifically for Luna, she should be conflicted on retiring due to she just got back from the damn moon. It felt like there should be alot of issues of Luna retiring but it all got brushed aside big time. Like the writers making her suddenly just give up her crown, throne and freaking destiny(raising the moon and dreamguarding) instead of like actual conflict of ruling without Celestia or give it up to be with her.

I don’t know man, Cerberus isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer  
And Celestia did say that she and Luna gave it “much consideration” It’s likely that they have been thinking about it since at least the Season 7 Finale (And let’s not forget that that was the episode where their mentor, Starswirl returned, thanks to Twilight by the way!)

Looks like its not close enough though.  
Cerberus is not going to be a few inches closer if Chrysalis got locked up too.  
Obviously they would account for her and Tirek’s abilities to drain stuff so they would have had Cerberus watch out of that.  
As for the cage, Tirek must have did something to it slowly as time passes while waiting for the right moment to get out, but now they would most likely make the cages harder to “break”.  
Still its not so “peaceful” if a villain attacks, even if they’ve been repelled it still disrupts the peace due to Equestria got attacked again.  
It actually bothers me on how the sisters say theres “less and less for them to do”, it just felt like something is wrong there.  
Still makes no sense for the sisters suddenly deciding to plan to dump their thrones on Twilight a few days after School Raze. So it had to be longer than that.

But Cerberus is still pretty closer than before, and it’s seems within Tirek’s range to me. And as for the cage thing, I doubt that it’s really doing all that much, after all, it’s likely he was in that cage last time, and he got out just fine (To me that means it’s likely the cage could just swing open easily)  
Additionally, It’s likely if Chrysalis got locked up with them that Cerberus would be at least a few inches closer as means of surveillance, AKA closer to Tirek’s range  
And as for the timeframe, the royal sisters also said that there has been less and less for them to do, also my interpertation for the longest peace is that ponies are much more relaxed and calm, most likely because every nation-threatening villain that comes around has been smashed by Twilight and her friends (They could also have been referring to peace between nations)  
And this next thing is minor, but those tally marks (that’s what they were by the way) could’ve also been referring to how long it was since the Season 4 Finale (If not, then how long it was since he was exiled to Tartarus in the first place) And what is each tally mark supposed to be anyway, days, months, years, moons? (I counted 125 tally marks)

Don’t think Tirek is still able to do that. Probably not close enough or that cage is making it much harder for him to do that.
 
As for the timeframe, it didn’t look like it was literally a day after School Raze.  
Heck, the princesses mention about “longest peace” or something on why they are retiring.  
And I think we see some chalk markings showing how much as possible passed since Cozy Glow got locked up.

Well you see the thing is, the (likely) reason Tirek never tried that before was that Cerberus was out of his range (that means Cerberus is too far for Tirek to absorb his’s magic) HOWEVER, the last time we’ve seen him, he was actually CLOSER to Tirek (Likely to keep a closer eye on them, especially with the new inmate), that means the window of oppurtunity is now wide open  
Plus, how do we know the timeframe between School Raze and The Beginning of the End? For all we know The Beginning of the End could’ve been literally the next day from School Raze

Nope, he would have done that in the first place but he didn’t. So something must have been preventing him from doing so without “help” from someone outside of his cage.
 
What plan they could come up with if they are stuck inside those cages and powerless?  
Cozy Glow would have come up with something with how smart she was but she and Tirek were still in cages before Discord plucked them up. Meaning they weren’t getting out anytime soon or at all.  
And obviously after it turns out Cozy Glow somehow shared letters with Tirek, they would prevent anyone from sending letters in and out of Tartarus anymore.
