Honestly, the ONLY thing I’d really hardline insist on for redone designs would be to ditch those godawful boots. Looking at the other 5 next to Sci-twi and Sunset’s feet/shoes in this video just makes them look like horrific mutants.

I’m fine with Rainbow ditching them for pants, but I actually hope AJ keeps the skirt going forward. The fact that human AJ is SLIGHTLY more girly than pony AJ and can enjoy Rarity’s dresses is a neat diverging detail in the franchise.

Yeah, I mean, gender’s a product of society anyway. That said, I respect it if you like the short skirts, but I really hope for less of them as the franchise goes on.

Yeah, but @ChuymaruZ was talking about Sunset growing more tomboyish as the movies goes on, so her ditching the skirt and switching to pants is just on par with the idea.

Well, yeah, but that here is more of an animation thing. Back in the original movie, at LEAST part of the reason they were all given skirts is because it was easier to animate. Come the third movie, and apparently they got better enough at it to have Sunset in a new design with pants. Ever since, she, SciTwi and Starlight have been the only ones blessed with what I like to call “Gen 2 Models”, with distinguishable feet, rather than those massive boots everyone else wears, and better animated legs. Sure, SciTwi also wears a skirt, but her shoes are far more detailed than the boots all others wear.
 
I really want the ReMane 5 to get upgraded designs too, but considering how little Hasbro seems to care about them lately, I doubt it’s gonna happen.

yeah but… that is weird, I mean rainbow and applejack wear skirts but they are still more tomboyish than sunset and starlight who also wears ripped jeans for some reason… well at least rainbow will wear jeans in the new show
