Probably just didn’t come to mind when they were writing it. We’re just thinking too hard about a Children’s cartoon about Magical Rainbow Horse-People. :(

im surprised she got a drivers licenses and a job cause you need a social security number for that

When this short was first released I assumed that Sunset’s home was the way it was because she struggled to survive when she first arrived in the Human world.
 
Her home was one giant room, it had bare brick walls and wooden floors, had no installed lighting and was using Christmas lights for illumination, exposed ventilation pipes, exposed plumbing(which she may have also had to install herself) and a lot of her possessions seemed salvaged, makeshift and re-purposed. She also showed sympathy for what looked like a stray Cat which made me think she may have spent some time homeless at first before finding the cheapest home she could find.
