And Trixie’s the new Counselor, so the office is now hers and that’s why she threw away Glim Glam’s plant, so I guess this is just a random, silly, almost out of nothing joke.

Yeah I just saw the episode. Sunburst really has moved to Ponyville now. And Starlight was so happy. Plus it was Trixie’s idea.
Yeah that’s basically it. Twilight is leaving Starlight in charge of the school as principal, so the episode is about Starlight finding a suitable vice principal to help her with the work. Eventually she settles on Sunburst.
Based on rumor, Sunburst is in scene because Starlight hired him to be a faculty member of the school. He now lives in Ponyville too, thanks to Starlight.
That’s three episodes now where the lump the blame on Starlight and or make her the one to apologize when it was someone else that should be doing the apologizing to her.
Starlight is too nice for her own good.
Except for that one episode, every episode with the two always involves Trixie hurting Starlight emotionally.

Planty the Potted Plant from Phineas and Ferb. Doofenshmirtz was getting bored of waiting for Perry the Platypus, so he made a potted plant his nemesis complete with secret agent hat. It somehow kicked his ass.
