Description
Tarot Spell had recently hit the same age her mother had gotten her wings. She waited for her wings to come, but nothing happened. Eventually, the young mare got tired of waiting and asked her mother about the situation.
Tarot: Mom, why don’t I have my wings yet?
Twilight: What do you mean, Tarot?
Tarot: I mean, I’m the same age as you were when you got your wings, so why don’t I have any?
Twilight: Wings don’t come when you grow of age, sweetheart. They come when you accomplish something so special, and special to you.
Tarot: But mom, I don’t want to wait! I want to be a princess with the wings and the horns!
Twilight: Not all princess are alicorns. Why don’t you go and talk to your cousins who, mind you, are princess without being alicorn.
Tarot: Fine.
Tarot walked to the castle in Canterlot where her cousins Starlet and Aethina were. As Tarot opened the palace door, she was surprised to see Princess Confectionery there, too.
Aethina: Hey there, Tarot!
Tarot ignored her greeting and jumped straight to the question.
Tarot: I need my wings! Why don’t I have my wings yet? I should have wings, I’m a PRINCESS for Celestia’s sake!
Starlet: Now now, Tarot. Why don’t you come with us, We needed to tell you something anyways.
Tarot followed Starlet, Aethina, and Confectionery out onto the balcony, so high up you could see where the sun sets. The princesses began circling around her in a rhythmic order. Then, Starlet began singing.
Starlet: Not all princesses are alicorns, you’ve seen them both big and small,
Then the other princesses began singing.
Aethina: Wings and a horn don’t make you royal, no, not at all,
Confectionery: A princess is chosen by her courage, her strength to lead a group,
Starlet: And once you finally have proven yourself, the magic will come to you.
The princesses kept singing their melody to Tarot, who was getting impatient. As their song kept going on and on, Tarot snuck out and decided that if she wouldn’t become and alicorn naturally, she’d have to be one artificially.
