I could see that. Rarity just wants to live up to the ‘classy’ aspect while Dash wants to live up to the ‘cool’ aspect of fashion.

I feel sometimes like the circumstances of Rainbow Dash’s life have repressed her femininity, and she’s just now beginning to rediscover it with a little coaxing on Rarity’s part.

Since the Beginning -

I like to think Dash and rarity are more similar than most consider, both being the most ambitious, pride-filled, eager to dazzle, and just a touch too vain at times.
 
Plus, I think it’s a given Dash cares more about how she looks than she lets on. (I personally think the lady doth prtested too much in Swarm of the century, and she even continued to try Rarity’s clothes on up to season 3 with much less of a problem)
 
That said, this is great.
