I had this half finished days before Mother’s Day, but school caught up with me and it was delayed until now. Have some moms!
Sweetie Belle -
Sweetie was told since puberty that she couldn’t have children. This was fine for a long time. She could be with whoever she wanted without permanent consequences and this really suited her celebrity lifestyle as a pop singer. However, as she grew older and hung out more with her nieces and nephew, she thought more and more about parenthood. Eventually she started looking into adopting an unborn foal, and via the local Adoption Agency, met with Saffron Masala and her husband Zircon. They already had three foals of their own, and so decided to “share the wealth” as it were, and give their fourth and final child up for adoption. Thus Sweetie Belle swept in and signed on to adopt their child. The selection process was grueling, and Sweetie had many moments of terror that she wouldn’t be picked. Luckily for her, Rarity helped her through this process, and allowed her to more easily get to know Saffron personally. The two eventually became fairly close friends, and Sweetie became Saffron’s natural choice to give her child to.
Buuuut, then Prince Blueblood wandered into Sweetie’s life. The two had a genuine connection - Blueblood delighted by her unusual playfulness and Sweetie admiring his keen sense for adventure - but what was supposed to be a one night stand somehow resulted in Sweetie’s pregnancy. This was a publicity wildfire in a way Sweetie could never have imagined. She received both passionate hate and support from her fans and Canterlot Elite,
“Isn’t Blueblood like, 40? Clearly she just wants his money.”
“She can do whatever she wants with her body! Don’t you dare shame her!”
but Sweetie held her head high and remained proud during a rather difficult time. She had long ago accepted that she could never have a child by conventional means, and yet this one incident among literal thousands defied medical science. Sweetie was perfectly happy with the revelation and would love her child beyond comprehension without Blueblood needing to step in, and yet she still found herself severly disappointed in herself for leading Saffron on. However, Saffron was completely understanding, and upon realizing that most candidates wanted their child primarily as a status symbol of being pro-interracial, decided to give Sweetie her child anyway.
So Sweetie Belle ended up with two daughters and she couldn’t ever be happier! She called Saffron’s baby Clarabelle, and her birth-daughter - who had been born several months after Clara - was named Marshmallow Kiss. For a while, everyone got along. But eventually, it dawned on Sweetie that her daughters were complete opposites in personality. Although Clarabelle was older, Marshmallow was clearly more confident and proud of herself. Despite Sweetie telling the frizzy-haired zebra-hybrid Clara that she was just as beautiful as Marshmallow, Clara would never feel that way and that simply broke her mother’s heart.
Ironically, Sweetie was closer to Clarabelle than Marshmallow, especially when Marshy started her own career as a teen pop singer. Sweetie saw her birth daughter less and less, and Clara became more dependent on Sweetie as she pursued her dream of becoming just as great as Twilight Sparkle. It was strange to think of Twilight as an idol, since Sweetie always considered her a good friend, but to legitimize Clarabelle’s feelings she encouraged her to be just as great as the Princess of Friendship.
Marshmallow eventually reconnects with her mother after years of emotional turmoil, and all becomes well in the Sweetie Belle family.
Rarity and Applejack -
Rarity and Applejack were happily married after Maud Pie suddenly broke up with Rarity because of an emotional disconnect that was pervasive in their relationship. Applejack happily adopted Sophie Diamond as her own daughter, and after some strenuous comforting and discussion, Sophie eventually accepted Applejack as a third mother and friend. Rarity was so happy with this development that she decided to have even more babies with her new wife. Applejack agreed of course, partially because Sophie wasn’t keen on working on the farm, and so tiny boy Ambrosia Majestiq and big, strong Ida Red were born, pictured here hours after birth. The events leading up to their birth was far less complex than Sweetie Belle’s, and they were all very happy for that. Rarity would invite Sweetie’s daughters over for play often. Sophie and Clarabelle were basically besties, while the twins kind of did their own thing, leaving Marshmallow kind of isolated.
Their dynamic was certainly predictable, with Rarity spoiling the heck out of her babies and Applejack acting as hard ball. Applejack got along best with Ida Red, followed by Ambrosia who loved her cooking lessons.
Rarity lamented over her discovery that none of her children wanted to hang out with her as they aged. Ida Red just wanted to wrestle. Ambrosia was vying to open his own culinary school, and Sophie was far away in Manehatten running her own avant garde fashion line. Applejack was equally disappointed, considering none of her kids wanted to run the farm with her. Not even Sweetie’s children showed interest. All she had left was Big Mac to depend on, so she kept a close eye on a certain Wonderbolt courting her brother. And Celestia forbid that her baby sister ever, ever have children. Applejack just was not prepared to face Applebloom becoming a mother.
Overall Rarity and Applejack try their best to support their children, despite their differences.

Notes:
-Luckily, Granny Smith got to meet all of her great-great grandchildren before her passing. However, Granny worried the most about Marshmallow. Although Marshmallow was a pretty selfish pony, Granny always gave her a hug, waiting for the day she would finally open up and explain what she was going through. Unfortunately, that day never came, and Marshmallow regrets this terribly.
-Ambrosia grows up to be a famous culinary artist, and did indeed share artistic differences with Applejack, who tried her very best that the heart behind food matters more than its aesthetics. He was just as stubborn as her however.
That’s all I’ve got for now~ I’ll have ref sheets for Marshmallow, Ambrosia and Ida soon! Hope you like it!
