She IS Fluttershy. Really, the only thing that is different is that she’s more emo. The hair is pretty much the same but shorter.

On the tags, “alternate hairstyles” is only really used for ponies. When it comes to humanizatioons many people don’t use their pony haircuts.
Because this really isn’t Fluttershy. I would even say it’s not MLP related. The character may have a vaguely Fluttershy-esque haircut and color scheme, but she’s so far removed that it’s hard to see a connection.
Frankly, I think it’s only associated with MLP for popularity’s sake.
Personally it’s because she’s characterized as an angsty teen who cuts herself. Everyone else seems for the most part in character, but of course the shy one has to have a rough home life and inflicts self-harm.
for me is that i hate that hairstyle, but that reason can be silly for others.
