You guys probably already know Mallorie and Love Letter. Letter’s concept was to be some sort of crossover sidekick character to Mel, but she was so well developed that I’ve grown attached to her and she’s sort of pretty much canon to my gen now XD
A bit on their relationship.
A bit on their relationship.
- Due to Raven’s “agressive” encouraging and support, Letter took up a internship for a secretary assistant at a company in Manehattan, and became Mallorie’s apprentice. Her role for the time being is basically to organize documents and bring Mel whatever she needs. Love Letter is pretty clumsy and is often seen stumbling on her own hooves, making pages of documents and reports fly everywhere, or misplacing papers and supplies. Fortunately, Mel is very patient with and fond of her pupil.
- Mallorie is pretty spontaneous and enthusiastic and often comes up with some new (sometimes crazy) ideas she claims will help improve efficiency and productiveness. Letter is consequentially dragged along to her plans and already anticipates when things seem like they’ll end in a mess. Even when things go wrong in the end, Mallorie will optmistically laugh at their failure, raise her head and try something new and different. Letter is always scared and worried about screwing things up, not meeting people’s expectations and disappointing them (specially her mother Raven), so she admires Mel’s confidence and optimism a lot.
-Big Cities might be Raven’s territory, but they are quite intimidating to Letter. Moving from a small town such as Ponyville, where you’re familiar with everypony and they’re all friendly to eachother, to a big city like Manehattan was quite of a shock to Letter. The big city feels just like a big hostile and cold place to her, without any close friends or family (Raven comes to check on her more frequently than when she was on ponyville, but she still spends a lot of time away because of work, and she misses her momma Razzie, she calls her everynight and will seek her advice in whatever she’s worried about).
Fortunately, Mallorie is quite good at making Letter feel welcomed and warm, with her lack of notion of personal space and outgoing, friendly and approachable personality. Mel is the kind of girl that naturally draws attention to herself and makes people want to befriend her. Once she takes a liking to somepony, she will easily aknowledge them as a close friend and exceed boundaries of personal space and intimacy (such as that one time when Mel got drunk at Letter’s welcoming party and spent the night at Letter’s place and shamelessly stripped to sleep, and used Letter as a hug pillow)
- Letter wears the collar in an attempt to look slightly more responsible and serious, and fit in better in her workplace, tho it just makes her look cuter.
-Love Letter might have one big crush on her mentor
