Clearly, Twilight hires Cherry to maintain her balloon when she doesn’t need it. Cherry proceeds to abuse her duty and take it out on joyrides.

Other than the opening sequence, I think it is pretty strongly implied that its Cherry Berry’s balloon. Its not the first time we’ve seen her using it, and she does seem to have her very own set of flight goggles specifically for the task.

  • Are their 2 Balloons in Ponyville? Maybe Cherries is new and they are manufactured.  
  • Did Twilight sell it to Cherry Berry or Rent it to her?
