My Bionicle knowledge came from my brothers, though I did play with the toys and follow the story myself, just not as much.
 
I’m amused at how many similarities one can draw between FiM and Bionicle. In fact, Bionicle is basically FiM with bad ends that later turn into good ends.
 
The Toa are essentially the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony. Mata Nui is a slumbering Celestia, and Makuta (Mata Nui’s brother) is Nightmare Moon running rampant.
 
The Visorak remind me of Changelings - if only for their insect-like roots, and the Toa Hordika are what the Mane 6 would become if the fanon Changeling cocoons attempted to turn them but didn’t complete the process.
