Autumn Blaze was a commission for VickiFox. She is 16” tall to the top of her head, and a whopping 23” to the top of her antler (horntler?). She is made of Off White, Kiwi, Olive, Sand, Merlot and Magenta minky with an auburn faux-fur mane and tail. Her mane and tail are extensively styled.
 
Holy moly! What a fun and challenging project. I’m so happy with how she looks overall - she’s a very lovely and lively plush to have sitting in the corner of the room, with that lovely hair and happy expression. Getting her ear shape to the point where I was happy with it took me quite a long time, and since this was the first plush I’ve made with fur hair, it was a new and interesting challenge learning how to work with that material and make it look right. I’m pretty darn happy with the results, although I feel like I might have gotten certain parts of her hair to look even better if I owned any hair styling implements like a curling iron or straightener (I’ve always sucked at doing my own hair, and I’ve pretty much given up on it at this point in my life). One interesting thing about working on the long fur hair is that the faux fur I got for her ended up being almost exactly the same color as my own hair, so the whole time I was working on her and had bits of fur all over the floor, I had this eerie feeling that I was shedding everywhere XD
