“Twilight, why are you out here alone?”
Startled from her star gazing, the young unicorn turned to see her teacher walking up the hill towards her.
“Oh I was just..I was…The stars were out and I-“
“You left the party to stargaze?” Celestia took a seat next to her faithful student and looked towards the heavens. “They are quite lovely tonight.”
Finding herself staring at the wrong heavenly body, Twilight quickly turned her eyes towards the stars once more. “Yes they are.”
“But the fact remains, you are out here when every pony else is inside. “
“I guess I just felt out of place.” She sighed after a moment. “Everypony else has their special some pony…Applejack..Dash…Even Fluttershy. I don’t even know why I bothered coming.”
She kicked at a pebble that lay near by as Celestia observed her quietly. After another moment of heavy silence the large mare spoke up.
“Do you mind if i sit out here with you? “
“You don’t have to keep me company, Princess. You should be in there, having fun.”
A wing stretched outwards and rested against Twilight’s withers. “It was a rather dull get together anyway.” Celestia dismissed. “Besides. I myself have no pony special awaiting me inside. ” Her eyes flickered towards her quiet companion. “But there is a special some pony out here i’d like to spend time with.””
