I can’t help but think this scene is something along the lines of that the portal on the fritz, but Sunset knows it’s okay because it’s going to be fixed in a few hours by Princess Twilight, and going out as a pony in the human would draw a lot of attention anyways, so all she has to do is sit back and read a good book until the portal’s reality reconfiguration matrix (or whatever it is that causes ponies to take on human form in the human world and vice versa) is up and running again, and she’ll be back to reading that book with opposable thumbs by nightfall. :3
