It’s no surprise to anyone that Rocky’s isn’t a die hard fan of holidays. Loud music, sugary food, and social interaction? Pass.
Now, admittedly, some holidays are worse than others. Hearths Warming in particular isn’t that terrible, and he at least gets something valuable out of it, like a new book or sweater. Nightmare night, on the other hoof, is exactly that- a nightmare. Unfortunately, when your family is comprised of party maniacs, every holiday is celebrated in the most over-the-top manner, including nightmare night. Which is why Rocky typically barricades himself in his room with the doors bolted, the coffee stocked, and 32 volumes by Immaniuel Cant to survive on until morning. No one blames him and they tend to leave him well enough alone.
However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and one such time Rocky was called to do one of the things he most despises: tricker treating. All because every family member was busy with their own nightmare night activities which left no one to take Twinkle into the streets to ask for candy except him. Needless to say, he wasn’t a willing candidate, but after Pinkie promised him he could visit the Canterlot Library the next day, he begrudgingly agreed. Still, he could have done without the part of the deal where he had to wear the costume Twinkle chose from him.
However, his costume was the least of his worries. For that night, Rocky would have to endure 3 torturous hours of one of his biggest pet peeves: interacting with strangers.
And it only took him five minutes of tricker treating with Twinkle to eternally vow to never do it again.
