Plus it’s not like it takes an awful amount of time to animate hooves on the majority of the characters. It’s one big thing and not individual digits.
Once again, all of those are mostly due to reducing the effort it takes to animate these things, not because of some weird standard and such. The instances I talked about are mostly all just hand-drawn pictures or really short animations, scenarios where the complexity of drawing one additional toe isn’t that high. Although I suppose some people may prefer 3-toed look. In any case, meh… I still prefer 4 toes most of the time.
The Mlp Dragons have 3 toes the Zootopia Characters have three toes the Sonic Characters have three toes (in proper) and that doesn’t Make them “Lazy Paws” not everyone draws anthropomorphic paws the same way I would think someone who is in the furry fandom would understand that anthro paws come in all shapes in sizes!
More like they are called “lazy paws”. Trust me, as a person who left MLP fandom (not porn tho) years ago and chose furry fandom as its substitute, I’ve seen plenty anthros that have a full set of toes. Heck, some even have 5 (with the 5-th being the vestigial toe that is usually located further up the leg, although this is rare as few species have it).
Same with fingers, as many artists nowadays will draw a full set of fingers instead of the reduced Simpson-like 4 fingers, especially since it doesn’t really make sense any longer not to draw them in full. Without having to animate the arms and legs, time savings gained by drawing only 3 toes and 4 fingers aren’t in any way significant compared to the ruined immersion and realism of the piece, as most furries are actually knowledgeable enough about IRL animals to know what a lion paw should look like when they see one.
I bet there is no real benefit of drawing them like this in MLP either, what’s with them using Flash puppets instead of having to draw bodies over and over again every single time… Must be yet another thing they sacrificed for who knows what reason.
The 3-toed paws are called Anthro paws. paws that are seen on anthropomorphic animals.
No, unfortunately MLP griffons have unrealistic 3-toed paws :(
