Star Twist slowly trotted down the hall of her mothers castle, her head low. The night before, she had just been announced the newest princess of Equestria. She found it rather odd, especially in her school. Classmates who had before, just walked straight past Star Twist now seemingly bowed down at the edge her hoof. While others, weren’t so nice. They’d say she wasn’t a true princess because she had no wings, or call her a fake princess who was only a “princess” because she wanted the attention etc etc. The truth was, she didn’t want to be a princess. Let alone the only unicorn princess in Equestria. She wanted to be just like before, the pony you’d just walk straight past in the hallway. Lost in her thought, Star Twist bumped into her mother, Twilight Sparkle.
 
“O-oh, sorry mom” Star Twist looked up. “I wasn’t paying attention”
 
“It’s quite alright, sweetie. After all, you are a princess now, you must have a lot on your mind. I know I did when I first became one” Twilight giggled, putting a hoof over her mouth.
 
“You could say that” the little unicorn looked down. “But i’m no princess”
 
Twilight frowned. “Of course you are, Star! Celestia herself said so. And so did Luna, and Cadence, and me, and Flurry Heart- and everypony! I don’t see how you couldn’t be a princess” She tilted her head to the side. “You even have a crown for Celestia’s sake!”
 
Star twist looked away, frowning. “I guess i’m a princess” she paused, looking at the ground. “But a princess with no wings”
 
Twilight sighed. “Star, if it makes you feel any better, you don’t NEED wings to be a princess. It’s in your blood, just like it is with Flurry Heart”
 
“But Flurry has wings! You have wings! Celestia, Luna, and Cadence have wings! Ponies at my school make fun of me because i’m the only princess in all of Equestria that doesn’t have those stupid wings!”
 
Her mother stepped back for a second. She hadn’t heard her daughter raise her voice since she was a filly.
 
“And… Well… I didn’t even WANNA be a stupid princess anyways! I didn’t WANNA do all these stupid princess chores! I just wanted to be a NORMAL PONY! NOTHING ELSE!” Star Twist teleported to her room and locked the door.
 
Twilight sighed, sitting down on the floor. She didn’t know what to do with that kid. Becoming a princess was like a gift, some ponies dreamed of becoming one. Ever since Flurry Heart was born, Celestia decided ponies no longer needed wings to be a princess, and it would just run through your blood. This was so that the princesses didn’t need to use so much power if one of their young was born any of the other races, and so most ponies would feel just as equal as the princesses. It seems that Star Twist and some of her classmates didn’t understand that.
