Description
For context, this was probably one of my super sleep deprived drawings. So if there are any errors in the art or writing, I was probably tired as hell and knocked out before I could upload it.
Today has been a hard, long, and odd day. One moment Daring on top of the world, soaring above the trees and wildlife with one huge step and a half ahead of Ahuizotl and his mooks, the next Ms. Do no taller than a blade of grass and stuggle to survive in the wild jungle. Despite the small setback, she persistent on through the jungle in hopes to find the artifact to bring her back to normal size.
Buzzing past towering landscape around her, night began to dawn upon her fast. She barely made it out alive this morning, there would be no way she would make it through the night. It was getting cold, and whatever creatures that were left would lurk out here and make her their prey. She needed to find some form of shelter quick. Searching high and low, Daring was at a race against time.
"Everything around me is huge, this shouldn't be so hard to find one spot I can hide out in!"
,the pegasus yelled infuriatingly, and she was right. For all the places one could imagine was safe was far from it. High winds shook smaller branches, The larger ones were more exposed to the elements ans predators, and the trees and plants were hosts to various forms of wildlife that Daring didn't want to risk encountering. It was the first time in a long time she felt this vulnerable to nature herself, the sheer unpredictability of the situation and the ever growing feeling of helplessness loomed over Daring higher than anything else.
Exhausted and nearly delirious from flying, she perched down on one of the smaller branches and caught her breath. Between the coughs and the hacks, she kept on trying to tell herself to keep going.
"A-Alright Dating! Just take it easy and keep your chin up. Chin up, chin up!"
She kept on repeating this to herself, trying oh so desperately to keep herself motivated. To never give up… Slowly her voice began to trail off, and the words began to turn into a jumbled mess of nonsense and gibberish. Finally she dropped down onto the branch, feeling it sway from her impact. She broke down into silent weeding, the reality had just struck her full force. There was no way she would survive the night. She was exhausted, she was battered, and the sun was finally setting as darkness swept over the jungle. It waw over… Ahuizotl has won, and she would be forgotten from the public eye. Nopony would try to find her, and even if somepony did it would be impossible with her being so small and invisible to the world.
As she dried up her tears, she rolled onto her back and looked into the night sky. All she wanted now is a miracle, she didn't want to call it quits now, but she knew if she pushed her boundaries too far or would lead to her failure regardless. She had to do
something.
Although it was only for a few minutes, it felt like hours to her as the sky was finally dark and the wind began to pick up again. She turned around and began to hold on for dear life as it shook the branch harder and harder with everything gust that brushed against the branch. All hope at this point seemed to be lost… but past the breeze and rustling winds, there was a familiar sound coming over from the distance. It was the sound of… galloping? And it kept getting louder and louder She carefully crawled over to the branches edge and tried to see who was it coming her way. And through the small gaps of the brush she saw a group of about 4 or 5 stallions quickly run through. While most of them were in unidentifiable, there was one she can easily point out aho was leading the group. His green eyes had pierced through the darkness, and around his neck was a blur of red and dabbled spots of white… Caballeron. It was probably his mooks galloping behind him, and they never have ran this fast unless they were either chasing something, or being chased themselves. Whatever it was, she has had to know.
Without any hesitation, she jumped down and flew down to see. However, she should have out a little more thought into it. Before she can react, her body was slammed full forced into what she can only imagine was a furry rock. No broken bones, but probably some bruises and a pain she can't describe easily. She found herself holding on to a tan clump of fur, and looking back to see the jungle in front of her fly right on past her vision. She carefully slid down the fur and into a small pocket of space in the neckerchief. Reemerging into a much more comfortabke postion, she grinned as she finally had her miracle. Not only does she probably have a place to sleep in tonight since they usually set up camp somewhere, but she'll finally have a lead again as to where the artifact is. As a few minutes passed on, she finds out so much more than she can ever imagine. Ahuizotl is coming tomorrow night to retrieve it, and Caballeron still has it with him at the hideout.
"Hideout?"
,Daring whispered to her enemy unnoticeably.
"Wow… Doctor I'm impressed that your stepped upnyour game a bit!"
He didn't notice, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She shimmied down a bit and… Oh. She hit the sweet spot. As she nuzzleed herself in deeper into the fur, she embarrassed herself in a giant pillow of fluffy, and the neckerchief acting like her blanket. The rhythmical beats of his hooves hitting the ground, his breathing, and his heart beat all in a weird way seemed calming to her. She didn't want to admit it, but this weird combination of sensations were putting her to sleep. She tried fighting it, but her eyelids slowly shut before she was in a needed slumber. Finally, for now at least, she can rest easy…
