Personality/Background:  
Despite the two having a loving and as normal as possible marital relationship full of magic and bad puns, Moonshine’s conception was actually a complete accident on the part of Trixie and Discord.  
At that point in time, the two weren’t even in a relationship (unless you consider a once a month fling to be a relationship) and were both too busy within their own lives to even consider raising a child. When Trixie realized that she was pregnant with the child of the spirit of chaos, the pair abruptly panicked, zipped over to Las Pegasus, eloped, and then began the journey of their very unplanned, unwanted, surprise pregnancy. And eight months later (he was born prematurely) Moonshine was born to two very unprepared parents.
 
To say growing up for Moonshine was a challenge would be an understatement.
 
Growing up, Moonshine didn’t see his parents very much, and frequently switched between staying with his father, staying with his mother, and staying with his aunts Starlight and AJ, never living permanently anywhere as his parents did not live together. It wasn’t that his parents didn’t love each other that they didn’t live together (although their relationship was still building itself up very slowly) but that with Trixie always on the road for work, and Discord was always busy working with the students at the School of Friendship. Due to the amount of time Moonshine spent with his aunts, he ended up growing a strong bond with their daughter, Gaia Butter, and her friend Oculus, who was over more often than not learning about the ins and outs of farming, and offering his time to work on the farm. The trio spent as much time together as possible, and managed to form a strong bond that latest throughout their school years and beyond into their adult lives.
 
As a foal, Moonshine was outspoken and somewhat obnoxious at times, always getting in trouble for speaking out whatever he wanted to, and standing up for what he believed in at the time, most times getting into fights over simple arguments. He was very competitive, and was always on the look out for new ways to prove himself to everypony around him. Moonshine maintained a hot-headed short-fused demeanor, similar to his parents, and could only really be contained by the calming words of Gaia, the level-headed advice of Oculus, and the pure presence of his aunts Starlight and AJ.
 
As a grown up, not a whole lot has changed. Moonshine still tended to be competitive, and generally overly outspoken, but he has also matured a lot too. He has gained a massive amount of level-headedness (something his mother never was able to achieve), and regularly attends anger-management classes in order to keep himself cooled down. A lot of his maturity came from taking over the paternal role in Chekov’s life, meaning that he had to set a good example for Gaia’s son while the two were around each other.
 
Outside of parenthood, Moonshine works with Princess Twilight Sparkle as her apprentice, learning all the ins and outs of friendship and magic, and how to control his own.
