Even though Calvados may look like a cute, ordinary colt, DON’T BE FOOLED. This kid can lift a million tons of stuff with one stubby little hoof. Calvados is widely known as a hard worker and athlete who won’t give a crap what others think of him. He isn’t afraid of the dirt and grime, but still has an unexceptional girly side to him despite being a male. For example, he likes pink and frilly things and will be the first to compliment any beautiful dress or tuxedo his mother makes for them (or other ponies). Despite being made fun of for his “girly” side, Calvados won’t care if other colts bring it up or laugh about that. He easily shakes it off and will challenge them on if they ever bring it up.  
Calvados’ relationship with Applejack is an argue then and love next relationship. Calvados doesn’t always tell the truth unlike Applejack who constantly has to remind him that getting away with stuff leads to bad consequences and lying isn’t worth it since it just causes more trouble and pain in the end. The loving part of this relationship is whenever Calvados plays with Applejack in the field and helps her with the chores. Despite being a terrible liar and not listening as well as he should, playing out on the farm and working hard are things that give Calvados joy in life.  
Rarity loves Calvados and loves how he compliments and admires her work, but something still isn’t clicking between them… Calvados often complains about Rarity complaining and being too nitpicky. No dirt, NO FUN! Calvados values dirt just as much as he values jewels and he wishes his mother would be a bit more considerate about having fun in life rather than keeping a standing in society and overly fussing about things.  
Calvados relation with his sister is surprisingly a good one despite their differences and flaws. Calvados will in fact help out his sister with knitting too at times because he still wants find ways to bond with her. Luckily, despite Cross-Stitch’s love of fashion, she still won’t mind helping out with work around the farm and wouldn’t nitpick about appearance and such like Rarity. Cross-Stitch’s generous and kind spirit are what make this really relation work.  
Lastly, I should probably bring up Balloon Blast and Calvados’ relationship. Both love getting dirty, adventuring, working, and best of all…HAVING FUN! Although Balloon can be a party pooper because of how smart she is, she and Calvados have always been close friends since childhood. Calvados does in fact have a crush on his “best friend” but Balloon Blast only sees him as a friend which makes it difficult for Calvados. Despite this, just a friend or soon to be lover, Calvados loves Balloon Blast dearly and will help her in dart competitions and other events and games the filly is hosted in.
