Dammit! Now this makes me wish that was a version of the Gmod/SFM pony models that can be posed on two legs like a human. :(

Jim Miller mentioned on twitter that it’s a whole completely different team that works on these. So you’re right.

What’s interesting is you can clearly see that the pony rigs and their animation are different from the show’s, because they’re not the usual MLP:FIM animators, they’re the EQG animators. Look at the shapes of body parts in some places, and how differently drawn Sunset’s bag is around her belly(the lines are a lot thinner than they probably should be), and that expression Starlight makes seems odd/off to me. Also sunset’s colours are different, darker and less saturated.

… Glim Glam, Pinkie does this all the time. Dashie as well, come to think of it.

The entire EG series so far has taken place in less than a year, because it was Sunset’s fourth time at trying to win the fall formal (she won the previous three) in the first movie and they’re all still in school now.

It think it’s been longer than a year. Consider the recent episode with Sweetie Belle and the aging of Ripley, which indicates a good while has passed between season 4 and 7.

We never saw her stepping out of the portal. It could’ve taken her a few minutes to adjust.

Sunset crossed over less than a year ago to steal the crown though, and she had no problems walking then.
 
This is just another “Why is Twilight having trouble flying now when she didn’t before” situation.

It’s the unnaturalness of it all.
