Description

Princess Twilight Sparkle always knew the day would come that her beloved Spike would one day leave her castle. That day came when, after hitting numerous rapid growth spurts, the now Official Friendship Ambassador to the Dragon Lands, Spike decided that with Twilight busy with both her princess duties and her toddler daughter, he needed to explore and serve her and Equestria on his own. With Twilight’s blessing, Spike left Ponyville bent on exploring Equestria; however, an unnerving deep feeling brought Spike to the Dragon Lands. From years of exchanges between himself and Dragon Lord Ember, Spike now knew the customs of the Dragons, and before long Spike settled in the Dragon Lands, still with a strange natural feeling. After a coupe years passed, Spike finally learned what his growing feelings were: instinct.

One day, the Dragon Lands grew restless with scorching heat and fighting. Spike soon learned that it was the year of dragon estrus, and as an adult dragon, Spike’s in-explainable feelings was testosterone building. As if from no where, at this time Spike shared the same feeling of all male dragons: find a female and fight off any male competitors. Naturally, male dragons, including Spike, strove to gain the attention of the most powerful female dragon in the Dragon Lands, and this time around the prize was Dragon Lord Ember. Each day, Spike and the other male dragons fought each other to win the prize of Dragon Lord Ember, and each day the fighters grew harder. Despite his delicate pony upbringing, Spike managed to battle off almost every single male dragon, and by the end of the estrus period only one male remained: Garble. As the reigning champion from the previous dragon estrus period, Garble already conceived a child with Ember; however like any other male dragon, Garble fought for the prize of Ember, his last competitor being the “shrimp” Spike. After a grueling battle that seemed to last forever, Spike defeated Garble, thus giving Spike his primal prize. Within a few months Ember laid an egg, and within another few months Spike’s child, a small light purple dragon whom he named Chara, hatched. Since Chara’s hatching, Spike lived with Dragon Lord Ember, alongside Garble and his son Topaz, as a high ranking male dragon.

As a few years passed, Spike watched Chara learn in the ways of being a dragon, and as little Chara lived among the dragons, Spike seemed to drift farther away. Even if he himself was physically a dragon, Spike knew he would never mentally or emotionally be accepted by dragon kind. Spike also knew that with each day she was with the dragons, Chara was unconsciously growing apart from her father. Whenever Spike told his daughter of his pony upbringings, Chara grew uninterested, instead wanting to hear tales of dragon kind from either Uncle Garble or Mother Ember. By Chara’s fifth year, Spike decided that his time in the Dragon Lands was over and made plans to depart. When Spike told Chara of his plans, the little dragon grew furious, insisting that dragons stayed with dragons. After an emotional argument, Spike allowed Chara to remain with the dragons, tears streaming down his face as he raced out of the Dragon Lands before the dragon estrus period began again. Having no plans, Spike simply ran until he could not run anymore, then with a rest the young dragon decided to visit his friend King Thorax, hoping that his friend would shelter him for some time.

Here there be dragons! I’m sure some of you were wondering if I had any NG plans for Spike. Honestly, despite him being a dragon and I love dragons, I am not a big fan of Spike. In the show he is an annoying little boy that sometimes I want to forget exists; however, he is part of the show, so I should accept him. Putting him in my NG universe allows for me to design a NG dragon and to explain the dragons’ place in my NG universe. I do not necessarily ship Spike with any character except maybe Ember; however, I decided to play around a bit and have this mixed, more animalistic approach.Plus I really do not like Sparity. Also, this entire theory/story is dependent on the show’s canon: I have seen a few pictures of Season 8 spoilers, and I hold my breath on what to do about them. With this all said, may I present my sixteenth NG family, Dragon Lord Ember, Garble, Spike, Topaz, and Chara! For now, some information on the two dragon children:

Topaz
Species: Dragon
Story:
Topaz is the son of Garble and Dragon Lord Ember. This feisty little male dragon loves fighting and setting anything on fire. He is much more like his father Garble than his mother Ember in almost every regard. The little brat also loves biting, so watch out!
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: Like all dragons, Topaz will never have a cutie mark or a special talent. Also like most dragons, Topaz breathes a red fire.

Chara
Species: Dragon
Story:
Chara is the daughter of Spike and Dragon Lord Ember. From her hatching, Chara has been all dragon, much to the upset of her father Spike. Chara refuses to understand her father, instead favoring the dragon way of life. This disconnect resulted in Chara and Spike drifting apart, with Spike leaving his daughter to live in the Dragon Lands with her mother.
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: Like all dragons, Chara will never have a cutie mark or special talent. Unlike her parents, Chara breathes a blue fire.
