There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s just a sad state of affairs that racism even exists in this day and age.

Some black people, including myself, talk and express ourselves just fine. Most of my friends and family “sounds white”. Oh, wait .. talking in a certain way isn’t a race-specific thing. Must have forgotten after all these years of the internet telling me what I can and can not be.
 
Tell me, why does my sister act almost exactly like Pinkie with her extreme outgoing nature and quirky sense of humor? Why do I act like Fluttershy to a T when I’m around strangers, but am much more like Rainbow Dash when I’m with people I know? I know so many people with traits that the mane 6 have. Shocker .. they aren’t white.
 
It’s not unreasonable to assume that there are different races for all, INCLUDING PONIES, all across Equestria. We don’t know how diverse the race pool in Ponyville is, nor any other place. For all we know they’re all black living in what is incorrectly considered a “white” way to live.
 
On top of that, notice Rarity and Twilight both have eyes that are more slanted than their companions, so it’s not unreasonable to assume they are of different ethnicity. Fluttershy has a rather different eye-type as well. Twilight comes from a different place entirely, whilst it’s implied Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were born up in cloudsdale. All very different areas where the ponies could look much different if they were humanized.
 
So, I don’t care if you like the ponies humanized as completely white. I really, really don’t. So I have no idea why people are so shocked and mad when they see ponies drawn with skin like mine. What’s so wrong with that?

Fluttershy as Nathan Explosion? I think I’ve actually seen a few youtube edits like that.
 
Also if Halle auditioned and was accepted for a role, I would quit the show the very next day. She already ruined Bond, Storm, AND Catwoman, can’t that bitch’s career stay dead? It’s great that Justy brought up tokenism, because there is someone who made bank COMPLETELY on that merit alone.

This has nothing to do with political correctness, dip-wad. It has to do with artistic expression, when someone decides to draw a humanized pony as someone of color or a different cultural background or god forbid decided that MLP doesn’t equal the “whitewashing” like the tv series ‘Friends’. The artists that decided that it would be more interesting for Twilight to Indian/Asian/African, she is still the same character, it’s the morons that see her that keeps downplaying the excuse of “this artist is be PC” “she doesn’t act ‘Black’ enough, she acts too ‘White’” (WTH decides on that crap anyway, placing others personalities, speech patterns and the way they talk as a measure on their ethnicity, fucking morons, that’s who)”.
 
Some people just are too stuck on stereotypes that it’s ridiculous, it’s funny that on American Dad the star athlete happens to be Asian, and some white students (satire-fashion) pointed out that his athleticism overshadows the fact that he is Asian, breaking the stereotype.
 
And for tokenism to work, the character has to be the lone character that represents a whole minority when the story requires a representative for the current issue related to it otherwise they are treated as background characters.
 
The mod pointed out how diverse the Mane 6 are in their personalities, their quirks, even some of their walk cycles and how they flap their wings, hell, their coats are various in color so why not the skin tones when humanized?
 
Here’s my greatest beef with this whole entire fandom overall, an artist that draws his/her interpetation of a humanized pony in a vision that celebrates the differences of people were are friends regardless of gender, color, status, professional trade, personality, social rank, and even difference of opinion of certain things. The last things they wish to hear are, “Twilight should be white” “Pinkie Pie doesn’t act Black” “Rarity is too white to be Indian” “You are trying too hard to be PC, putting in token races here.”
 
Would it KILL ANYONE to just state the the fact:
 
“Oh, I never thought of twilight Sparkle as a human with African features, or Fluttershy as a Middle Eastern, that is a different and unique interpretation. Not my style but it looks like you had a vision, worked hard on it, and it works for you.”
 
Really people need to get their heads out of their asses and see the world is not always about them.

I can’t believe I live in a world where artists and writers are being told what ethnicity humanized cartoons should be, solely based on what the VA race is or what is “implied” on their mannerisms. So we should make the ponies white because they act white? Sapphire Shores should be black because she acts or sounds black? Or Photo Finish’s assistant should be Asian because she has slanted eyes? Do you know how STUPID that sounds?!?
 
After all the progress and accomplishments people of color has made, the education, the differences of upbringing, people STILL HAVE THE GALL TO CONTINUE THIS STEREOTYPING BS?!? So if Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, Jada Pickett, Phil LaMarr, Halle Berry, Denzel Washington audition to VA for MLP, you would bitch to say they can’t be ponies, they sound more like Zebras?!?

Because we already HAVE ponies (or other) with a race implied, one equivalent to the human world. Zecora is African. PF’s assistant is Asian, etc. Neither of the M6 have anything like that going for them. This is just thinly veiled tokenism, plain and simple. Stop trying to defend it.

The show is literally about six people with wildly varying interests, different backgrounds, different hobbies, different professions, literally different colours and different subraces of their species who come together and become best friends; why is that people only start banging on about diversity when they’re being drawn as humans? We don’t need a tag for diversity. It’s part of the whole theme of the show. If anything, “homogeneity” would be a tag that would be far more relevant, and there’s a greater case for complaining about “forced homogeneity” than “forced diversity”. Except that nobody should be complaining about either and artists should just be free to depict the characters as whichever races they feel like.
