“‘ESS Ouroborous, Property of Professor Tidal Current’… Oh, Crash Dive, you’ve struck pure gold this time around!” The diver pegasus happily clapped her booted hooves together as she stood in front of the old half-buried steamer trunk amidst the modest debris field on the ocean floor. While the waters of Saddle Lake were quite familiar to Crash Dive, the chance for new discoveries had rapidly dried up as she’d mapped the lakebed, especially with one or two of them having been buried during her attempts at recovering the massive inflatable war machine that rested in her front yard.
 
Her quest for new salvage discoveries (and a need for more ways of paying for damages she’d inadvertently caused when she’d fallen asleep at the controls of the MAUS) had brought her off to Equestria’s coastline, and to the debris field of a once great trans-celestial ocean steamship, supposedly lost to the clutches of a massive sea serpent. With a firm belief that the true tale was more easily chalked up to a rogue tempest that was caused by an accident at the older Cloudsdale weather factory, back before proper modern safety measures had even been dreamt of, and with a small iron steamship of her own design as her main vessel, Crash Dive had bravely disregarded the rumors and found herself quite a bounty indeed.
 
Just is a shame that the tempest that supposedly sank the wreck she was perusing had actually occurred a whole month before the ship had left port…
