Sombras upset, but can you blame him? After his official premiere, all you stupid ass niggers can talk about is Gak.

Niggertron loves him some Gak tho.

I aint gonna sum up the episodes for you or say how fuckin awesome they were. I do wanna talk about King Sombra though. Many were disappointed by how little screentime he got, and by the fact that he was killed in the end. I do, to some extent agree. Of all the villains in MLP, he had the fewest lines and the least character development. No information was given about who he is or what his motives are. All we know is that he is a bad guy who enslaved the Crystal Ponies forsome reason. Its a shame we didnt get more Sombra because he was by far the most ominous villain the show has had. The constant threat of this evil force being just out of reach and closing in fast was downright scary, way scarier than youd expect for the little girl audience.

Really though, none of that shit matters for the story. These episodes werent about King Sombra, but Twilight Sparkle. This was about her quest to meet her mentors challenge, save the Crystal Empire, and advance in Celestias training. Her moments with Spike were by far the emotional highlights of the episodes. Would it really matter who or what Sombra was?

The real problem here is time. As with the season 2 finale, I really would have liked to see this be a three-parter with more development for Sombra and the Crystal Empire. I can only imagine how much good shit the studio had to leave out to squeeze it into 2 episodes. Of course, they should be commended for including all the good shit they did, like the Cadance Cannon, Spy Pinkie and 3 great new songs.
One thing that did impress me was that the final battle (if you can call it a battle) was much more dramatic than the ones for any other villain. Instead of Discord or Chrysalis cockily sitting back and letlting themselves get fucked, Sombra lunged forth from the arctic to take back the Crystal Heart. Looked damn badass doin it too.

As for Sombra being dead, I wouldnt be so sure. Theyve already given away that Discord is coming back, so I wouldnt be surprised if we get more of him in the future.

Now Imma go play with my Gak til next Saturday. Shits addictive, negro.

I love how Niggertron has gone from a crosses-the-line-twice deliberately offensive gag character spawned from a forced meme to an actual voice of reason in this fandom. Like, I entirely agree with just about everything in his sentiment here.

Hmm… Good theory.

I honestly think the defeat of every villain is leading to something. Like, Celestia needed buisness tidied up before a new power could rise. Hence everything seems to be for 1000 years, it comes back at nearly the same time, and is easy to clean up with the next up and coming power at the time.

So, Celestia needed Luna back for Twilights next level of magic study (Just a theory), Discord… Dunno about him. Chrysalis was defeated by SA and Cadance, to foreshadow, or something, the fact that emotion can power magic to insane levels (Chrysalis ALSO used this), and the ENTIRE Crystal Empire covers Equestria in whatever emotion seems to be most present at the time, happiness and love would be best. Seen as that powers magic (probably), Twilight can draw on that to learn Alicorn Magic and then Ascend… I dunno anymore.

@Juggernaut470

Sombra is just the face of Twilight Sparkle’s fears, self doubts and negativity. Defeating Sombra, Twi learned not only definitive trust and self sacrifice, but she learned what had to be done to save a nation. A lesson that may come in handy if she’s to become the third princess of Equestria.

Speaking of wich… Do you think Cadance (or Cadence) was too a student to Celestia who passed a similar test? It’s an idea that has been going around my head since we saw TS’ images as an alicorn.

/ Another, even more obvious thing that people seem to forget, Sombra was turned into shadow and locked in a glacier for over a millenium, he was definitely still concious while it happened, and he isn’t and invulnerable immortal like Cisco or NM. Even the barest presence of mind to growl a few worlds and lie in wait for a chance to rush the Empire is more than he should be allowed to have.

I support what you said. The bad guy wasn’t really Sombra, but Twi’s self doubts and fears.

Sombra was the face, but Twi’s negativity was the true bad guy.
