This sort of tag discussion would have been funnier if IDW or Berrow had created their own versions of Evil Cel before this episode. XD

That’s what I say. Since Daybreaker is now 100% canon, all fan given names are now null and void, whether anyone likes it or not, since canon is far above fanon.

I vote for this, but remember that this is the ACTUAL official version as the show supersedes any other material.

Dream or not it’s pretty obvious this can happen Celestia  
even know’s it if she ever did turn like her sister. only by turning herself  
into flames I think she know’s what she will and or would look like if she transformed  
to Day Breaker in reality. hell Luna is able to transform herself into Nightmare Moon  
at will in that Halloween episode.

Ok. We saw Princess Luna transformed into Nightmare Moon and Celestia used the elements to banish her into the moon. NMM came back, which brought eternal night to Equestria until the Mane 6 used the elements to change her back into Luna, thus freeing Celestia from her moon prison. Now for Daybreaker, her magic is very devastating, especially her destructive solar flare. Good thing Celestia protected starlight from that blast. Celestia knew what she had to do because Starlight feared what would happen if her and Luna kept fighting.
 
The episode felt like a Mid-Season finale to me and I think it deserves a 10/10. If Celestia somehow manages to become Daybreaker for real in the future, Starlight and the Mane 6 will be ready for a challenge.

I think “Evil Celestia” should be the umbrella term for the whole concept, and each official interpretation gets to keep it’s own tag which will imply “evil celestia”.

I’m more in line with Daybreaker remaining a different tag as her design looks nothing like 90% of the fan art before this episode.

Personally I am against doing that. Daybreaker technically is a product of Glimmer’s imagination and not necessarily the same as Nightmare Star, Solar Flare, or any other hypothetical evil Celestia design.

Welp, time to change all the Nightmare Star tags and the like to Daybreaker.
