Siren males otherwise known as Sirons can often be orphaned from their parent pod whenever disaster strikes. If they are lucky enough to be adopted into a merpony pack then their chances of survival are heightened. The shoal of merponies gain a guardian of magnificent size who can guard them till his dying days, built by nature to endure extraordinary punishment the merpony will never know.
 
Though there comes a day when an adopted siren hatchling will honor the moment they were assimilated into the fold and coddle their new mother even if they are half of their true self. On that special day, a siren will shine brightly among the many and commit themselves to something fantastic, earning love from their surrogates that empowers them even in their meager mortal lives.
