Maybe since Equestria is a matriarchy, it’s reversed.

But, again, going off of context. I thought the whole implication was that Luna was getting a second chance in a world that actually accepted and appreciated her for her talents. Meaning ponies would be out at night, and night time is generally reserved for happy fun times after work and college, etc. Don’t know why it’d be any different.
 
She’d fit in best doing as everypony else does at night, and that’s just letting it all hang out. Again, kind of an assumption, but it makes sense.

When Luna was banished, nopony but her sister gave a shit. Ponies were superstitious, as old-timey people tend to be, and were afraid of the dark. If anything, they feared Luna for being a harbinger of everything that goes bump in the night. At worst a pariah, and at leas nothing more than a sideshow attraction.
 
Fast forward. Luna arrives in a totally new and improved Equestria, where ponies don’t just appreciate her night, they fucking love the ever-loving fuck out of it. Ponies play during the day, sure, but they play even harder at night. Just like we do, yo.
